swanagechurches.org is the website for Swanage Churches Together and the place to go for resources for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity that starts today. The united service which was to have been next Sunday, has been in planning for some weeks and the preacher was to be Katrina Greetham of the Salvation Army, and the service was to be led by Martyn Neads, the URC minister. Due to the new lockdown, the church leaders considered that it was best to move the service to a time out of lockdown in the future, when it may be a celebratory occasion. However, it would be good to hear, in the meantime, from Martyn and Katrina, so their contributions have been made available to us on line.
Each year the resources, which are international, are produced by one country, and sometimes by a community within that country. In 2021 we read on the Churches Together website: ‘The material has been prepared by the Monastic Community of Grandchamp in Switzerland. The theme is, “Abide in my love and you shall bear much fruit”, is based on John 15:1-17 and expresses Grandchamp Community’s vocation to prayer, reconciliation and unity in the Church and the human family.’
The resources, the video, including Katrina’s address, and further information, is all to be found on the Swanage Churches Together website. Click on the link above and find the tab “Week of Prayer for Christian Unity” on the top right hand corner, along the menu on the home page.
