Hello! My name is Chris Stratta and I’m your Community Partnerships Manager for The Leprosy Mission. I know that many of you within the Swanage and Studland churches faithfully pray for and support the work of The Leprosy Mission; I am so grateful. I’m pleased to be able to visit you at St Mark’s at 10am on Sunday 20 March to thank you for your kindness in person and to give an update on the amazing difference you’re making for people affected by leprosy like Shakti. If you usually worship at St Mary’s, All Saints' or St Nicholas’, please do join us at St Mark’s if you would like to.
Your Leprosy Sunday focuses on Greater Heights, our new project in Nepal to rebuild a Research Centre that is crumbling and at risk of closure. Without a new Research Centre, the chance to end leprosy in our lifetime could be lost forever. You will hear the story of Shakti, a 16 year old girl who has lived with leprosy since she was 2 years old and lost her left leg below the knee as a result of the disease. But she has now been fitted for a prosthetic leg, and will learn to walk again. You can help people like Shakti reach the great heights they deserve. If you can’t make it along to the service but you’d like to know more, I would love to hear from you, so please do call me on 07940 720826. You can also find more information on www.leprosymission.org.uk God bless you.
