Pauline Werba and Alan Dominy receive community awards

Pauline Werba and Alan Dominy amongst Swanage Community Award recipients.

The Swanage Community Awards have been announced for 2019. Amongst a number of wonderful people in the town to receive awards we are delighted to mention two of our regular congregations.  The following comments were made in their citations:

Pauline Werba – who received the Lifetime Achievement Award  in recognition of various community volunteering activities undertaken, including principally Chair of the Swanage Foodbank, and Citizens Advice Bureau Adviser. The citation acknowledged that she is widely considered to be inspirational, and that she was nominated for her knowledge, professional approach to the problems of others, kind and caring attitude, and tireless commitment to the Swanage community, helping countless individuals and families, over many years.

Alan Dominy - who received the award of Purbeck Town and Parish Volunteer of the Year 2019 – recognising his role as advocate for the community, and his considerable contribution to many community and charitable volunteering activities undertaken, including volunteering as a member of the Citizens Advice Bureau, as being the lead person for Link Visiting & ‘Place of Welcome’ services for lonely and isolated people, and as such also contributing to the community activity of Churches Together in Swanage.

Congratulations to you both!  And, richly deserved….
