Scenes from the Studland Celebration of Rural Life

Prayers at the Cross

Prayers at the Cross

At 5.00 p.m. on Sunday 16th June about 30 people, villagers, friends and visitors gathered at Manor Farm in Studland to walk around the village and pray at various points, remembering the life of a village community in the past, and celebrating and giving thanks for the vibrancy of its life today. From the farm we walked, or followed in a trailer behind a tractor - very appropriately - to successively: Tony Higgins' garden, the village hall and green, the pond, then onward to the beer garden at the pub, overlooking the sea, returning via the parish cross to the Church for final prayers and a barbecue. It was enjoyed by all and we look forward to a repeat next year! Thank you to all who provided for this to be such a happy and successful occasion.
