Simon Lole awarded an Associateship of the RSCM

Simon Lole

The ARSCM  is awarded to Simon Lole for achievements in church music of national significance, and for important musical work within the RSCM.
“ Simon Lole has served as the inspiring director of music at Croydon Parish Church, St. Mary’s Collegiate Church, Warwick and then as Director of Music at Sheffield and later Salisbury Cathedrals, and then a time at Jesus College, Cambridge. Since 2010 he has been Director of Music at St. Mary’s Church, Swanage. As well as being a sought-after choral director, he has built a considerable reputation as a composer of church music, particularly works that are accessible to listeners and practical for singers.”
The presentation of awards will be during Evensong at Salisbury Cathedral on Saturday 5th October 2019.
The Team Rector, in commenting on this formal announcement and citation, said: Simon’s award is such good news! I am sure that I speak for everyone when I say, “Simon, we want you to know that this is, in the humble opinion of all your friends in Swanage, an honour that we believe you richly deserve and we are very happy for you. Congratulations!”
