Update on St Mary's Christmas services

Services at St Mary's on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

The question that has been asked on a number of occasions in the past couple of days is, "Will the services go ahead in St Mary's as advertised?" The simple answer is, 'Yes', but here is a little more detail:

Please note the need to have face covering

Christmas Eve:

The Crib Service is at 4.00 p.m. as usual, but numbers will be limited and we shall be without the live animals this year, as they form such a focus of attention for the children that they would encouraging clustering, which we want to avoid.  we hope that they will be back next year.  It is not necessary to register for this service, nor is it possible to book places in advance.  It is a matter of arriving in good time, and we hope that we can get everyone who wants to come into the Church.  The collection at this service will be for Christian Aid

Carols by Candlelight at 6.30 p.m.  Once again, this is not a service that shall require pre-booking.  We are not anticipating being over-filled for this service, as many will have been to the town carol service last Sunday.  But it is still advisable to come in good time. The collection at this service will be for Embrace

Christmas Midnight Eucharist begins at 11.30 p.m.  As with the carol service earlier in the evening, we should be able to comfortably accommodate those who wish to come.  The collection at this service will be for Embrace.

Christmas Day:

The Eucharist will be celebrated at 8.00 a.m. (said service) and 10.30 a.m. (choral service)

Sunday 26th December - St Stephen's Day, but celebrated as the First Sunday of Christmas

The Eucharist will be celebrated at 8.00 a.m. (said service) and 10.30 a.m. (choral service).  There is to be no evening service.
