Baptisms & weddings

Baptisms

If you would like to arrange to have your child baptised (christened) then you should contact the Team Rector, for baptisms in St Mary’s, St Mark’s and All Saints; again, the Team Rector, or the Reverend Tony Higgins for baptisms in St Nicholas, Studland.  Contact details can be accessed here.

Weddings

There are various legal requirements to be fulfilled for any couple to be married in the Church and it is important before seeking to arrange a wedding in any of the churches in the team that you speak to one of the clergy, or contact Karon in the Parish Office (open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays). The office holds details of the statutory and other fees and other information that you may require before booking your wedding.

All couples are asked to join with others being married in the same twelve months for a Saturday (usually in March) when aspects of marriage are presented and open for discussion and questions. The clergy will guide you through the stages of preparing for your wedding in Church, from the reading of banns to the conduct of the service on the day. Contact details for the clergy can be accessed here and, whilst any of the clergy can give you general help and advice, the clergy for each church that it is best to contact are as for baptisms, above.
