We are re-advertising the Parish Administrator post based at St George’s, Langton Matravers:

The role of Parish Administrator is central to the life of the churches in the Purbeck Hills.
S/he is responsible for the efficient running of the church’s administration and is often the first point of contact with people enquiring about baptisms, weddings, funerals and other pastoral support.

 

Parish Administrator (Part time) 

Parish of St Aldhelm, Purbeck

£10.42 per hour. 3 mornings (12 hours) per week.

Responsible to:      Churchwarden

Hours:                       (12 hours per week - 3 mornings)

Holidays:                  25 days holiday per year pro-rata, including statutory holidays.

Salary:                       £10.42 per hour

Introduction

 

The St Aldhelm Parish (Registered Charity No: 1196110) consists of three churches: St George’s, Langton Matravers, St Nicholas, Worth Matravers, St James, Kingston, plus St Aldhelm’s Chapel and a congregation that meets once a month at Harmans Cross Village Hall.

The Parish of St Aldhelm works in a team partnership with the Corfe Valley churches, all within the Benefice of St Aldhelm.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Welcome

  • The Parish Administrator is at the heart of the church’s welcome and communication, serving as the main information point and is the first point of call for all enquiries.

Communications

 

  • Prepare and print a weekly bulletin and send weekly notices by email. 
  • Create inspiring and inviting publicity for events and activities.
  • Ensure church notice boards, internal and external, are kept up to date; liaising with Church Stewards and clergy concerning information to be displayed.
  • Manage the church diary
  • Maintain the church databases and Church Family Address list
  • Producing and updating the church leaflets and term cards
  • Forwarding completed marriage documents to the local Registry Office.
  • Updating website and social media platforms - ensuring service and event information is up to date.
  • Administering and pursuing adverts for the Dubber (parish magazine)
